Lana is SWEET SIXTEEN!

My sweet and adorable youngest sister is turning 16 today. Wow, how time flies. She was always the little girl and baby in our family. It's been fun to see her grow through different stages of being a bossy tossy, playing a travel agent, to director of her own productions, to dance team and now to High School in Success Academy and having lots and lots friends and boyfriends. She was always like 5 going on to 20. She was making smoothies and her breakfast at that age. She is a special girl with a lot of talent, charisma, and concern for others. I love her and wish her the best in all she does.

To celebrate we had a big family dinner and party. It was fun to have everyone there. We then went around and said what we liked about Lana. I went off like the above mentioned and Nina, Rob's wife was like "Wow, that was like a motivational speaker" in her endearing Georgian accent. It sounded like she was mocking me and since I do have a tendency to go on my soapbox it was quite appropriate. She confessed she was being sincere, which I am sure she was, but nevertheless it was hilarious. OF Course, everyone wanted to hold Audrey, especially Rob and Nina. It was fun to see their tender side come out. Robbie loved to touch her feet and compare it to his thumb. Nathan was a doll. He is such a kid at heart. He loves kids, especially little boys, and they LOVE him. So he played with the boys, and read them a couple of stories before they all went to bed, he was a hit and the best babysitter. I am so lucky to have him as my husband and father of my children :)

Meeting the Onieles 8/30/2011

We were so excited to have the Onieles come out to visit us and to meet their new cousin Audrey. Loni informed me of how excited her boys were to meeting Audrey. They love babies, especially the novelty of a baby girl.Wow was she a hit. I loved how little three year old Grant would call her "Baby Audey." They were so loving, helpful and very curious, especially when it came to me nursing her. Wow is that? Gotta love these little guys.

New cousin.... Jimmer.

Hello Jimmer.  So kind of cool and neat. My paternal aunt Jeannette is only ten years older than me. She spent her summers as a youth with my family and has always lived close by and felt more like an older sister. Well she just turned 40 on Audrey's birth date, and two weeks later she gave birth to her fifth and final child, James Walter Sealey. The irony is, her fourth child it took them five years and with medical help and some high expenses were able to conceive her.  When she hadn't been feeling well and went to the doctor's they informed her she had an STD, a nine-month one, she was pregnant, she and everyone else was shocked. The funny thing is too that her due date was like August 30th, and mine was Sept. 1st so they were only two days apart. Also, the same sort of situation happened with my mom, she was 40 when she had Lana, wasn't planned and there was a five year gap, but my mom claims it was the best thing she ever did. Also the other interesting note is Jeannette was born in 1971, I was born in 1981, my niece was born in 2001 and Audrey was born in 2011, so were all within decades of each other. Anyways enough about my aunt and I. She too delivered early and on August 23, 2011 gave birth to her new son. So my grandma Lichfield really wanted to see him and Jeannette so on Friday we went up to Cedar to visit them. My aunt Maybeth was there too, so it was like a party. Jeannette looked so well and energized just giving birth three days ago, I guess it does get easier. We had so much fun just talking and sharing about our birth stories and having newborns and all the fun with that. So grateful for my aunts.

Just Because..

So while talking to my sister-in-law, Tavia, about how much our newborn prices were and such. We were talking about how we should do our own newborn photo shoot. She had a really nice camera and she came up with the idea of a backdrop and brought just fun things we could take her picture with from our homes. We got my mom involved too, she brought some fun things, and then brought seasonal things. She thought maybe we could take pictures and make a calendar out of it. Regardless of how good or bad they came out, it was really just fun. She was a trooper to sleep and be flexible with all the poses we put her in, then finally she awoke and had had it, so we had to call it quits... poor girl... life is just hard when your this adorable and adored I guess.

Two weeks old.

Pictures say a thousand words. Can't express how much we love and adore our little girl. She is so precious and so new and so exciting. We capture pictures daily, almost hourly. So here a few of her (and her parents) recently of showing her hitting the big t-w-o weeks... whoa.

Visitors!

My good friend and co-worker Melissa Everard meeting Audrey in the Hospital

My other good friend and co-worker, Niki. She is a mother of two year old and gave us great tips.

My other good friend and co-worker, Jodie. I loved how after holding her for awhile she gave her to me because she said her arm was getting soar holding her head, because I feel that all the time.

My good friend and my old visiting teachee, Rachel Anderson and her 6 mo. old Felicity Jane.

Just had to compare the size difference of a newborn and 6 months old, you don't realize how tiny.

My good friend Sarah Ragazin was in LaVerkin from Boston, so had to hurry and stop by for a visit. She was on bedrest with her third pregnancy. So fun to catch up and talk about pregnancy and babies.

Covingtons: Tala and Kavika, they were so nice to bring us yummy Cinnamon Rolls.

Can't forget sweet Malia Covington

My good friend Britta Lynn King

Can't forget my mom's BF Brian. He was great to text me frequently while in the hospital and days after. He teases me that "I think she is the only baby in the world," she is in my world :)

My good ole friend Stacie and Demitirus Oloton

It is fun having special events and to see how your family and friends respond to something very special in your life. We had many visitors come to see our new little one and to celebrate our excitement. It's also very easy to get excited about a newborn baby. But regardless, it was fun to see who showed up to say hi and many brought food and gifts, it was so nice to feel so loved. Thanks to all who came by :)
