Today some very exciting and unexpected news happened. We had a great opportunity to go back to the city I love, New York of course and meet some pretty cool people. But it didn't fall thru, which I was kind of sad about. But it all worked out in the end :) Just had to post it.

Friends in town

So with the holidays it always seems to be a time to reunite with old friends and acquaintances. I was blessed to have two of my really good girlfriends traveling thru town and made some time to make a pit stop and say hello to me and to meet little Audrey. I then was able to meet up with some of my good friends and old co-workers during Thanksgiving Weekend. It is always a joy as a parent to have people that mean a lot to you meet someone who you love and adore. I am so grateful for such good friends.

Thanksgiving with the Gublers

So we had our very first Thanksgiving dinner with the Gublers. It was a very productive and busy weekend. We came in that morning and I made the stuffing and nooked it in the microwave when we got there, you know me, good ole Betty Croker clone. We had a delicious meal, good food and company. It was fun to have all of Nathan's family there, except Spencer on his mission. After we ate, we than looked at all the Black Friday ads. I have never really done the extreme Black Friday Sales like show up at midnight or 3 AM. So we decided to make a plan and a night of it. We went to Wal-mart at 10 PM, Black Friday Sale in Vegas, just a little crazy and overwhelming. Then we headed over to Kohl's, Target. Nathan went to Frye's Electronics for a little helicopter. He was never so excited about a gift. We didn't get back until 3 AM, then woke up at 7 AM and went out again at 8 AM. It was INTENSE to say the least. Then we got back that afternoon and helped my in-laws move all of their stuff from their house Friday and Saturday into their new rental :) It was kind of sad to see them leaving their home that had been their's for years, but fun to see them in a new beginning as well. I love Nathan's family and so grateful for having such sincere and giving in-laws.

Chatty Kathy! Audrey talking....

Audrey the one who was once so quiet, is talking. She has gotten quite vocal and expressive. It's so fun to hear her learning to use her vocal chords.

Lichfield Thanksgiving Dinner

Since it's not my family's year for Thanksgiving. My mom wanted to have us at her place for our own little pre-Thanksgiving dinner, dinner. It was nice and all decked out with our name plates and such. Love me some Thanksgiving dinner, even if we do have it twice in a week.

Happy Birtday Wade!

So while living with my dad, he gets help with house cleaning from our family friend Wade. So I get to work with him most days during the weekday. We've had our fun and our laughs, and I tease him he is quite snoopy. But he really does care and have a heart of gold. Always makes us laugh and always a good friend. So we couldn't miss is birthday party this year, especially Audrey. He loves to hold her and talk to her. Here's to a good friend to all.

Lana's first.....

So in life there is always those firsts. Especially with a baby. First smile, first coo, first spit up, etc. Well we adults also have our firsts. And one being my cute and sweet 16 year old sister Lana, she has had her first dates, first driver's license and of course...... her first wreck. Well so here Nathan and I were hanging out at my mom's house one night, Lana was home and rushing off to I think special needs mutual. Where she comes in the front door, and gives me a look like she had seen a ghost, sure enough the guilt was to thick to not guess that she had hit my car. Sure enough she backed up into our car door. Of course we parked far away from the drive way to prevent from this, since my mom has done this two other times before. But I guess Lana was destined to have her first wreck, and not a better place than at home and your sibling's car. I was just glad Nathan's sibling had a little fender bender with our car before this, so he was a lot more understanding and forgiving.... which he naturally is, but it seemed to make me feel better about my family hitting his car :)

Saying Farewell to CCSD...

Susie, Director of Wraparound Services, and Audrey

So it was time to say goodbye to CCSD, Clark County School District. After two great years and sometimes not such great moments. I gave my heart to working with some of the struggling youth in the inter-city of Las Vegas. There were trying and frustrating times, but I learned a lot and gained many insight and education on our public's education. I gain understanding and personal experience of many children with all walks of life and strives. The best part of my job was the co-workers and friends I made along the way, Ms. Lisa, Sue, Lourdes, and all the others at Siegle. I couldn't have asked for a better group to work with, learn from and lean on. Thanks for giving me a great experience. I am grateful I am able to have the opportunity to stay home with my little girl, and spend my time on helping my own child.

LeNae and her favorite sister.... :)
So my cute and very sweet and sincere sister LeNae has decided to serve an LDS mission. We are all a bit surprised and shocked. She never really had interest in serving a mission, and she was kind of at a bit of a crossroads in her life and it's been fun to see how much she has flourished and thrived since making this decision and direction in her life. So she had received her mission papers and they were mailed here, but she was still up north.  So they were waiting for her for a couple of days. So on Sunday November 13, she planned a whole little mini-party with friends and family to take part of her opening her call. We would tease her about going to Boise, ID, or Las Vegas, NV or some kind of not to far away or exotic place. We all wrote down our guesses and I thought she was going to NY, NY American Sign Language. Nathan thought she was going to Virginia, maybe it was our secret wish of where we would want to go. Well the lord knows his children and he called her to BARCELONA, SPAIN mission. She kind of squealed with excitement when she read it and giggled with shock and amusement. So she read it out loud and we were all so excited for her. She studied abroad Spain two years ago and picked up the language pretty well. She has always naturally connected with latinos. She played soccer for years and the latino soccer coach LOVED her.  Also it's the best of both worlds, get to learn a very well known language, and yet still be in Europe. It's on the border of Spain and France, even part of her mission is in France, and her mission President is President Hinkley's son, Clark Hinkley. So the lord knows his children and what they need and where they would best be suited and place for them to serve. She will be a great missionary. Easy to talk to and easily loves people. Congrats LeNae!
