Cecils come into town

So it was kind of ironic. We don't ever see the Cecils, except we did see them a year ago when we went to stay at a Beach House with my mom and the Langston's last October. And we happened to stay with them when we we're in town last weekend. Well not even a week, and they were stopping in at our place, their first visit in 8 years! They had been planning it for awhile. They got time off, and Monique has been wanting to go to see some of her old friends, Joey not the most Utah liking guy just didn't want to go during Conference Weekend, and of course that happened to be when he got the time off, oh how I love the irony. It was fun to host them for once, and once again just enjoy their company. We gave them a little mini tour of my dad's place on the golf cart and of course had to take pictures. Here they are.

Audrey's First Vacation

Sara's family

Bride and Groom

The romantic serenading

Reunited with old friend Sara Borg (different Sara)
So we took our first vacation with Audrey, and of course it was our favorite destination spot, SoCal. My really good friend Sara's little sister was getting married, and it was kind of a big deal, kind of like the Mormon Royal Wedding big deal. No, no one got work off, or was it featured in major magazines. But it easily could have been (maybe LDS living or LDS Bride). Her sister comes from a higher socio-economic status than most (quite like Kate Middleton), and she was marrying Marie Osmond's son (kind of like the fame of Prince William, maybe on a smaller scale) and yes, Sara is like Pippa (coolest girl ever, very stunning and only sibling and handle it all so beautifully). So we got the beautiful invite, and since Audrey was old enough to travel (so we thought so), we went a go for it. Okay all kidding aside. Sara and I met when we were in NY, we have had very similar backgrounds and personalities. Her family is so giving and gracious, they took me on the yacht back in 2008, and killed me every chance they could at Mafia, so I don't know if I feel like part of the family or arch-nemesis, but regardless, I have always loved her family and her darling sister Claire, who was marrying the very lucky guy, Steve. So, I felt strongly we needed to show our support, mostly to Sara, having gone through something kind of similar, I knew I would like the support. So we were able to crash at the Cecil's, had a really good time just hanging out and chatting, talking about being pregnant, Monique (was about three months along) and watching their daughter Brook break out into the Little Mermaid character with song and gestures, she was a riot. We had so much fun. I think our dream one day is to live in SoCal, we already have such great friends, great weather, etc... only the traffic can be a nussaince. Then we headed up to the beautiful wedding. It was very classy and elegant. Appetizers and social to a fun photo booth, the whole nine yards. Steve and Claire make a beautiful and dynamic couple. My favorite part was when he wrote and sang a song for her. It was very cute and fun to see some familiar faces as well.

Daddy's Triathalon

Dad's number one fans!

Addison, Regis and Audrey

My dad, number one cheerleader of racing events

The Participants: Jackson, Tavia, Colton, Addison, Mom and Nathan

Gubler Cheering Squad: Stephen, Jessica w/Audrey (of course), Nathan, Lisa and Jon

The after party
So Nathan participated in his second triathlon, The Kokepeli. We all thought he should have done the Olympic since he's so naturally active and full of energy. But he played it safe and did the sprint. It was another big family event. My mom, sister-in-law Tavia and Janelle Langston all participated, as well as Addison and Colton in the children's competition. It was great because my in-laws were in town for the weekend and came over to watch Nathan on his great day. I had greatest intentions to make matching t-shirts of like, Go dad, or something, of course this is when Audrey was still in the womb. I was lucky to put some fancy earrings in, let alone failed to still put on some make up, oh the adjustment of becoming a mother :) anyways....Way to go DAD!

Meet the Robins

Meet the Robins. My bobsy twin and I reunite. My cousin Da'nelle and her family came with another family for a little vaca to get away. They didn't really come to visit us, but we enjoyed them just the same. It was fun to hang out, and reunite, we also got to know there good friends, can't remember their name, but they had a three month old little boy and it was fun to talk about newborns and such. I also got the idea to make a car seat cover from her simple instructions, one of my first sewing projects since I made a tulle skirt in Ogdensburg while watching "Anne of Green Gables," back in 2002, wow... those were the days...

Audrey's first month of life...

Audrey is one month old today. It feels like all that has happened in a month, feels more like a couple of months, like my dad always would say, it's not the years but the mileage. Well, we live life to the fullest, and I think just having your first baby is a lot take in, the labor and delivery, recovery, and having a newborn :) It's been by far the best month ever and we just love her more and more as each day goes by. Here's to many more months of watching our girl grow.

FHE Triathalon?

So Nathan and many other people in my family are signed up for the Kokepli Triathlon. They are all just doing the Sprint, but to practice they decided to do a trial run in my parents valley, and use the pond as the swimming course, gross. So we made it a big Family Home Evening Event.  Loni and her three boys participated, Janelle and her two boys participated. Tavia and Addison and Colton particpated. It was a great sight to see. Only sad part was there was another Oneile mishap, of course there was. While Mikey was biking down a hill he didn't know how to use the peddle brakes and he went tumbling for a fall. And of course who do you think was there to see it all happen and for his rescue, none other than my dad, poor guy can't catch a break, always there in the midst of putting out the fires. Mikey got bruised and banged up pretty bad, but was such a trooper and good sport about it all. Poor Loni, I don't think it's in the cards for her to come out to Utah, there's just been too many bad omens :)

Today was a very special day for our family. We blessed our little almost month old baby girl in our church. She looked beautiful and peacefully slept through most of the day. Her dad gave a very tender and heart felt blessing. However when he lifted her up to show the congregation. Her head fell and it looked as if he was about to drop her. I was looking down when it happened to try to take last minute notes of the blessing. We had a lot of close friends and family show up for their support. Like all of Nathan's family except for Johnny, Megan and Spencer. His dad's parents and sister Kristen and her daughter Katie came as well. My whole family was there except for LeNae, who was up in Provo for the weekend and refused to come for kind of a silly reason. I won't lie she was kind of dead to me for a day or two, mainly because I wanted family pictures and it takes a lot for us all to get together, but I have forgiven her and can't be too much of a primadonna about it. My aunt Jeannette and Maybeth and their families came as well, as well as my grandma. It was a cool testimony meeting. My mom, grandma, cousin Vanessa, Addison and I all bore our testimonies, it felt like we high-jacked the meeting, but it was a cool feeling to all reunite in our old ward. So grateful my family both the Lichfield's and Gublers. They are so supportive, loving and lead by such a good example. I am so grateful for Nathan being a good father and husband. I am so grateful for little Audrey. Something that small, can bring so much joy and happiness in our lives. She teaches us so much about love, devotion, commitment and sacrifice and it's all worth it and more.
