Harvest Fesitval

Maybe I am getting old, or just domesticated. But didn't really get into the whole dress up and go all out for Halloween, instead I had a Harvest Festival Dinner party. It was really my friend's Karlin's doing. My friend Amy was making fun of how I had become so domesticated so drastically, and Karlin wanted to try out my cooking skills, so I hosted a party to show off all the tricks I learned in the kitchen (not many), but my friends were impressed, especially I think just knowing I did, it was hard to believe.

California knows how to party!

My mom and some of her friends rented out a way nice beach house for their long UEA weekend in Oceanside. Since we Nevadan's don't have UEA, ours was a quick trip, down and back, regardless it was fun and totally worth it, even though the weather wasn't permitting. On our way back, we went to church with my friend Monique and Joey. They kindly invited us over for a yummy dinner and we finally got to watch the VHS production of Monique and I modeling in Spain, back in 2001, only 9 years ago. Wow, did we get a kick out of that, as well as our husbands!

It's about time.

My good friend Don, whom I have been friends with for the past 8 years, was finally getting hitched, I know I have no room to talk. But he was the ultimate Mormon Bachelor, we had a lot of fun together, both being single social butterfly's in the small Mormon world. He and I met as EFY counselors, we then became good friends, and shared mutual friends, he came to all of the annual Zion hikes with our friends, he moved to NYC,  the year before I did, and actually lead me to my first group of roommates, so then we shared many mutual friends in NYC. We were part of a trio that was suppose to meet up for New Years in a fun destination every year. I only made it to the first one, 2008 in Vancuver, BC. Then I moved back to Vegas, where his dad was doing a show and so we hung out quite a bit and it was fun in all the timing. He met his wife, Jessica around the time I met Nathan, and we would share our dating stories of falling in love.  Nathan and I just happen to go quicker, but it's been so cool that we were both such strong single staple friends through out our single years, which let's be honest, can be rough, and then within four months were both married, 2010 what a year!

So our other friend, Meghan from Canada, was able to make it down for the big event, and it being General Conference, she was able to get tickets as well. So we were able to reunite as old friends, celebrate Don's special day,which it was beautiful, I LOVED his bride's dress, and her sister made it, wow! Then we made it for the next morning (Saturday) General Conference. We also were able to get reconnected with some of my old friends in my mom's Salt Lake Apartment later that night. Good times to be had, good times :)
